Berliner Weisse Beer Can
After doing research prior to completing this project I recognized that a lot of other brewers really try to present each beer can like it’s own brand with a marketable key image or logo that could be potentially sold on a shirt or as a sticker and I think I really achieved this eye catching, marketable factor with the lemon I created. The warm color scheme also screams summer and given that this beer would be served with raspberry puree at Guilford’s physical location it was suggested that I make the secondary color of the can pink to match in order to tie the experience of buying the beer on it’s own to dining out and the environment they were in.
This was my first major project given to me during my position at Guilford Hall Brewery. I was tasked with creating a can design for their Berliner Weisse Sour Beer. The main thing our team wanted me to focus on was making the design marketable, the tart flavor of the beer, and that this beer would be made as a Radler (typically a mix of a lighter lager with some sort of citrus or fruit soda) in our restaurant. I believe I achieved this by really zoning in on lemons and having fun with the major form on the beer’s title.
